Rambus Memory (RDRAM): High-Speed Memory Technology

Rambus Memory (RDRAM) was introduced as a high-speed memory solution designed to outperform traditional DRAM in the late 1990s. Its architecture allowed for faster data transfer rates, making it particularly appealing for applications requiring high bandwidth, such as gaming consoles and graphics-intensive computers.

Unlike conventional memory, Rambus Memory (RDRAM) uses a narrow, high-speed data channel and a unique signaling method to achieve higher throughput. This design enabled processors to access memory more efficiently, reducing bottlenecks that were common in standard DRAM systems.
